About Tool Guide

Tool Guide is a small, independent editorial project about power tools. We are not a shop. We do not sell tools, we do not carry advertising, and we do not participate in affiliate programmes. Our only goal is to publish careful, useful writing for people who own power tools or are thinking about buying their first one.

Our editorial mission

Most information about power tools comes from the people trying to sell them. That is not always a bad thing, but it colours the way specifications, features and safety are described. We wanted a place on the internet where an ordinary homeowner could find plain-English explanations of what a torque number means, why one battery lasts longer than another, and when to reach for a hammer drill instead of an impact driver.

How we produce our content

Every article on the site is written from scratch by our editorial team, drawing on manufacturer technical documentation, published engineering literature and our own hands-on experience with a wide range of tools. Where a claim depends on a specific measurement or standard, we reference the source or describe how the number is normally obtained.

Articles are reviewed for accuracy before publication and revised when we notice something that could be clearer. If you spot a factual error, we would like to hear from you.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell products or promote any specific brand.
  • We do not run adverts, pop-ups or exit-intent overlays.
  • We do not run affiliate links or receive commissions.
  • We do not collect personal data beyond what is needed to reply to a message you send us.
